2026 Festival of Ageing + Dementia Design
The Festival of Ageing + Dementia Design is a one-day event at the University of Stirling for citizens, professionals, industry partners and our postgraduate students to examine exploratory concepts in ageing and dementia design.
It consolidates a celebration of the work of our students in the Postgraduate Certificate of Designing for Dementia and Ageing with three grant funded research projects into one focused day of student presentations, discussion and workshops.
This event will be attended by individuals with lived experience of ageing and dementia, industry partners and professionals, early career researchers and our Postgraduate, part-time students of the Design for Dementia and Ageing postgraduate course. Our students are professionals employed by UK care regulators, architecture practices, local authority occupational health and socialwork divisions and care operators. They bring with them significant experience in their disciplines and an interest in broadening their industry networks and knowledge of activity in dementia and ageing design.
This event would not be possible without funding from the UKRI Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Impact Accelerator Account and the British Society of Gerontology, and generous donations from the University of Stirling’s Dementia Fund and our commercial partner Altro (Flooring).
