DSDC is delighted to welcome Jessica Noel-Smith to the team, taking up the role of Senior Architect.
Jessica is a professionally qualified Architect specialising in accessible design, with a background in social care, housing, and the disability sector. Her architectural practice experience includes delivering age-friendly housing, neighbourhoods, and community-led regeneration buildings. Working within the social housing sector, Jessica led on the delivery of bespoke home adaptations services and advised on best practice accessible design for new-build projects. She also recently completed a 2.5 year tenure as a Director on the Board of Management for the Architect’s Professional Examination Authority in Scotland.
Jessica is a non-executive Trustee on the Board of Management for Share Scotland, a leading Scottish third sector social care provider for adults with intensive support needs in the community. Having previously worked with Share as a Care Support Worker, Jessica then worked in a development role at Share's Head Office co-designing and delivering a three year outreach project for young adults with additional support needs in transition from child to adult services.
Her previous third sector work also includes annual involvement over six years in a local specialist summer school in Northern Ireland, The Lighthouse Trust, delivering conductive education for children and young adults with neurological and mobility impairments.
Jessica's experience in practice will bring invaluable experience to the DSDC team and will be an asset to clients.
