The DSDC’s Best Practice course materials were translated into Cantonese, and used with over 1200 members of the health and social care workforce.  Researchers from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Jockey Club Centre for Positive Ageing and the University of Stirling looked at ‘the effects of the program on staff knowledge, attitude, sense of competence related to dementia care and job satisfaction using validated instruments and explored how the dementia care practices have been influenced by the training’.  Significant improvements were observed in all outcomes at the 12-month follow-up assessment.
